We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of high-impact IT infrastructure initiatives for a large public-sector organization. This 12-month contract offers an exciting opportunity to work on enterprise-level infrastructure upgrades and modernization efforts that support critical business operations.
The successful candidate will manage full-cycle projects within a structured PMO environment and collaborate closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders. A hybrid work model is in place, with a requirement to attend on-site meetings or work sessions as needed within the Metro Vancouver region.
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage all phases of infrastructure-focused IT projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out
Prepare project documentation including business cases, charters, project plans, budgets, and risk registers
Oversee scope, timelines, budgets (>$2M), vendors, quality, communications, and risks
Facilitate collaboration across cross-functional teams including PMs, BAs, developers, and external vendors
Present updates and recommendations to senior leadership and steering committees
Ensure projects follow PMO methodologies and deliverables are completed to a high standard
Drive stakeholder engagement and ensure alignment across technical and non-technical groups
Qualifications and Skills
5–10 years of experience in IT project management, including infrastructure or technical implementations
Proven experience managing enterprise-level projects with teams of 10+ and budgets of $2M or more
Strong knowledge of project management practices, including risk, scope, change, and resource management
Experience working in or with public sector or enterprise organizations is highly desirable
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and align executive stakeholders
Comfortable working in a hybrid model with occasional on-site meetings
Proficiency in MS Project, SharePoint, and the Microsoft Office suite
Nice-to-Haves
PMP certification or equivalent
Familiarity with structured PMO/governance environments
Experience managing vendor deliverables and complex contracts
Exposure to organizational change management (OCM) principles
