06/15/2025Address:100 King Street WestCustomer Shared ServicesThe Manager, AML Quality Control & FIU Insights, on the Operational Effectiveness team leads a team of QC Investigators responsible for assessing the quality of AML investigations. Ensures potential threats and investigations are evaluated, documented, managed and escalated by following standard operating procedures. Provides subject matter expertise and oversight of criminal risk by following a disciplined and intelligence-based approach to detection and research of activities and events in alignment with criminal risk frameworks and standards to ensure compliance as well as support trending, analysis and insights generation.
Quality Control & Documentation
- Conduct independent analysis and assessment of completed alerts/cases to ensure accuracy of documentation and support rationale for outcome of review.
- Perform risk-based assessments of investigations and ensure alignment with operating procedures.
- Document the outcome of reviews in the relevant tracking tools, documenting feedback, advice and guidance to Investigators.
- Serve as a resource for others in resolving complex issues; communicating and interpreting risk-based approach to investigations.
Strategy & Insights
- Develop solutions to enhance the workflow and effectiveness of investigations.
- Analyzes data and information to provide insights and recommendations to the leadership team.
- Help determine FIU priorities and training opportunities based on observations and patterns observed within completed reviews.
- Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholder to support the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. (e.g. Governance, AMLRO teams, law enforcement agencies and other Financial Institutions).
- Integrate information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting.
Workflow Coordination, Training & Reporting
- May assist manager to coordinate, schedule and assign tasks.
- May oversee the preparation of reports, notifications and activity/case filings per guidelines and standards.
- May be required to assist with leadership, onboarding, coaching, training and performance review.
- Monitors and analyzes various information provided through detection systems, tools, reports, or manually to evaluate, investigate and determine if further enhancements are necessary.
- Develops and maintains an understanding of the financial crime management processes, frameworks and techniques.
- Gathers and formats data into regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
- Provides notification, information and instructions to internal/external stakeholders related to AML incidents as necessary.

- Supports the collection of evidence and information to be used for multiple purposes including incident reports/filings, loss prevention, litigation and criminal prosecution, management information and statistics, and process improvements.
- Documents actions and information found throughout the investigation to develop and maintain account/case files.
- Develops and maintains an understanding of the financial crime management processes, frameworks and techniques.

- Analyzes data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
- Executes routine tasks such as service requests, transactions, queries etc. within relevant service level agreements.

- Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.

- Qualifications:
- Typically, between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Investigative or compliance related experience is required.
- Knowledge of banking products, services, processes, and organization is an asset.
- Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

$68,000.00 - $126,000.00SalariedThe above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
