Agilus is recruiting for a Project Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in the Oil and Gas industry in Edmonton, Alberta.
The Project Engineer-in-Training (EIT) will support our client's pipeline project team by contributing to both engineering and administrative functions. The primary focus will be assisting with the execution of the Field Programs (survey, environmental assessments, and land-related activities) through the summer of 2025, transitioning to general support of Detailed Engineering in fall 2025. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and organized individual eager to contribute to project success while gaining valuable project experience.
Responsibilities:
Field Program Coordination: Coordinate day-to-day vendor activities, including field program execution, technical tasks, and reporting.
Field Dispatching Support & Quality Control: Oversee and maintain accuracy in field dispatching activities, supporting smooth execution.
Vendor & Project Reporting: Incorporate vendor reporting into project reporting.
Other duties as assigned, supporting various project needs.
Administrative & Engineering Support: Assist in key administrative tasks such as: Submitting requisitions, reviewing invoices, tracking receipts, and managing change orders; Developing decision records;
Preparing and distributing meeting agendas/minutes; Managing transmittals, supporting documentation preparation and filing; Creating templates requiring engineering input
FEED Support: Contribute to Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) efforts, assisting with: Less complex technical reviews (e.g. material numbers, quantities, simple code requirements, simple calculations, checking references, checking integration with other work packages, research, etc.); Maintenance of project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), schedule, risk register, cost tracking, and overall progress reporting
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and registered with APEGA as either an EIT or P.Eng
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools; experience in SharePoint and Power BI will be considered a bonus
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
For new graduates, co-op or internship experience in oil and gas or pipeline projects will be considered a bonus.
