Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Estimator in the Construction industry in Ottawa, Ontario. Our client is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to lead the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in at least three of the following areas: demolition, excavation, waterproofing, landscaping, concrete, shoring, or civil construction. A typical day: Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for complex construction projects Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine scope and requirements Conduct site visits and assessments to gather data for accurate estimating Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project goals and constraints Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering alternatives Maintain and update historical cost data and unit pricing databases Mentor and support junior estimators and contribute to team development Successful candidates will have: Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred Minimum 7–10 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on at least three of the following: demolition, excavation, waterproofing, landscaping, concrete, shoring, or civil works Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards Proficiency in estimating software Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and civil drawings Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Proven ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously Total rewards: Attractive compensation Vision and Dental care, extended health care Opportunity for professional development Group insurance and competitive pension plan Office based role
