Position: Bilingual Human Resources & Payroll Generalist
Location: Mississauga, ON | Hybrid
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Compensation: $70,000 – $80,000 annually + bonus + benefits
We are seeking a bilingual (English/French) Human Resources & Payroll Generalist to join our Client's team in Mississauga. This role offers a unique opportunity to support a national workforce across multiple provinces and play a key part in both payroll and HR functions. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and HR best practices.
This role is split approximately 60% payroll and 40% HR generalist responsibilities, and it requires the ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative and growing HR department.
Payroll Administration (60%)
Administer end-to-end payroll for employees in Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, and British Columbia.
Ensure full compliance with CRA, Revenu Québec, and provincial legislation.
Process various pay types, including salaried, hourly, and commission-based compensation.
Handle RRSP contributions, year-end tax reporting (T4s, RL-1s), ROEs, and payroll reconciliations.
Collaborate with the Finance team on journal entries, audits, and financial reporting.
Maintain knowledge of current payroll legislation and employment standards.
Human Resources Generalist (40%)
Support recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, and employee relations activities.
Administer benefits and wellness programs across multiple provinces.
Ensure compliance with federal and provincial employment standards, including ESA and CNESST.
Contribute to ongoing HR projects and initiatives.
Serve as Co-Chair of the Health & Safety Committee and assist with workplace safety programs.
Maintain HRIS records and prepare documentation in both English and French as needed.
Bilingual in English and French (verbal and written)
Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification
3–5 years of experience in Canadian payroll processing.
1–2 years of HR generalist experience preferred.
Proficiency in payroll software (ADP Workforce Now preferred; Ceridian experience also accepted).
Solid knowledge of Canadian employment law and payroll compliance.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proven ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
