The role of an HR Partner is a dynamic one, requiring a blend of strong skills in human resources, data acumen, storytelling, and outstanding mentoring abilities. Position Responsibilities:

  • Strategic partner to aligned Technology teams: develops and drives the people strategy, workforce planning (e.g., skills, structure, people, etc.), talent management, and organizational change.

  • Be a thought leader and agent of change with respect to the HR function, constantly and creatively assessing and sharing opportunities and risks with respect to the function, driving continuous improvement, and demonstrating how the function may be used, changed or adapted to provide benefits to the broader organization.

  • Be the face of “One HR” to leadership ensuring HR partners and resources are delivered seamlessly and, in a customer-centric way, to support acquisition, engagement and retention of top talent in line with business need.

  • Actively analyze data with the goal of communicating insights back to the business to advise their people related strategies and priorities.

  • Proactively and strategically drive talent identification and development processes to ensure that the Technology function helps deliver meaningful career experiences for our technology talent, while maintaining sufficient bench strength and succession plans for officer and critical roles.

  • Partner closely with the wider HR function to leverage our global scale, contributing to its agenda, and operate seamlessly as one team.

  • Collaborate with our HR leaders to provide input on their solutions to make sure the business perspective is embedded early on, and to leverage external market intelligence as often as possible.

  • Provides feedback, advice and coaching to senior leaders on talent issues, HR strategies, and leadership

  • Anticipates impact of change (including risks) on the organization and provides advice and education to leaders including escalation as appropriate.

  • Oversees delivery of all cyclical employee initiatives such as Employee Engagement Survey, Performance Management, Talent Review, and Compensation Cycle for assigned client groups etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience across several HR disciplines, including time as an HR Partner supporting technology teams and businesses

  • Proven success as a coach and leader with the ability to influence, truly collaborate, negotiate, and work in a Global matrixed reporting environment

  • Ability to influence, truly collaborate, negotiate and work in a Global matrixed reporting environment

  • Proven use of data and data analytics to drive business solutions

  • Well networked to bring thought leadership into the function and profile Manulife within the tech community

  • Strong communicator – both written and verbal with experience in giving presentations to a senior audience.

  • Client centricity with a focus on the employee experience

  • Strategic partnership orientation both internally and externally; continually seek input/feedback from clients to effectively meet needs of the organization

  • Excellent business and professional judgement including an ability to sit in ambiguity while still driving business outcomes.

  • Courage: influencing and negotiating with all partners both within and outside assigned client groups

Salary range is expected to be between

$123,400.00 CAD - $229,300.00 CAD
