As a MOR Engineer with a focus on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), you will be at the forefront of driving resilience, automation, and innovation for the MOR PowerApps tool by leveraging BMO’s enterprise technology ecosystem. You will play a critical role in identifying resiliency gaps, engineering scalable solutions, and integrating processes and technology across platforms to support the OR framework. This role combines technical depth and strategic oversight to lead and collaborate with Enterprise Technology to promote automation via emerging and existing technologies and services that align with our stakeholders and the overall goals of the organization.
Key Accountabilities:
- Identify, assess, and solution process or system resiliency gaps across the MOR framework and its ecosystem abroad
- Collaborate with stakeholders and partners to architect and implement scalable solutions that enhance the functional state of the MOR and operational reliability with the purpose of toil reduction
- Lead initiatives that align with the MOR Engineering roadmap by stitching together automation capabilities and tools (ie. Power Platform, PowerShell, Ansible, scripting, etc.) with enterprise systems and cross-functional workflows
- Design and implement end-to-end automation for Operational Readiness processes, integrating with platforms such as PowerApps, JIRA, and others
- Act as a technical SME in cross-functional discussions regarding system integrations, digital data point manufacturing, observability, and Operational Readiness criteria
- Contribute to the evolution of the MOR Engineering framework by promoting SRE principles and data-driven decision making
- Liaise with the Digital ORR Team by providing technical insights with resiliency-focused recommendations, validate feasibility of proposed enhancements, and funnel automation or tooling-related backlog items for prioritization and execution
- Runs proof of concepts when improvement opportunities, or value-add ideas are discovered
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- Typically 5-7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong understanding of resiliency engineering and toil reduction strategies
- Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support
- Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique, challenging situation and find solutions to problem that can be complex or non-routine
- Understanding of DevOps methodology with experience in CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with system administration across Windows, Linux, Unix environments
- Possesses a deep understanding and problem-solving ability of Enterprise Technology of various complexities
- Knowledge of software development practices, concepts/methodologies (ie. Agile, iterative, waterfall), and technologies obtained through formal training and/or work experience
Able to prioritize and build framework around shifting landscape and focus on high value directives
$92,400.00 - $171,600.00SalariedThe above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
