Your Key Responsibilities
Stantec Consulting Ltd. is accepting applications for the prospective opportunity of Construction Contract Administrator for projects located in the west end GTA [Brampton/Mississauga]. Reporting to the Project Manager of Transportation, the Contract Administrator is responsible for the following:
Supervision/Inspection of Contractor operations for a variety of disciplines on site, including grade, drainage, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, watermain, granulars, environmental controls, structures, asphalt and electrical, and supervise Senior/Junior Inspectors on site.
Read and apply all Contract Documents and applicable Ontario Provincial Standards (OPS) to the construction Contract.
Experience with Metrolinx and Ministry of Transportation road construction projects is considered an asset.
Monitor/advise on the progress of construction projects operations and Contractor’s scheduled Work.
Review, calculate, monitor, and produce progress payments and change orders.
Liaise between clients, contractors and municipal officials on-site.
Prepare and submit Daily Diaries to Client and include payment statements.
Inspect Contractor’s traffic control measures in accordance to OTM Book 7 requirements and provide daily comments on effectiveness.
Provide all Health and Safety concerns comments in the Daily CA Diary as well as notifying the contractor and client immediately.
Provide Contract “As Recorded” information, to be delivered to the client at the conclusion of each project.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Excellent written, verbal communication, analytical and organizational skills.
A working knowledge of road and bridge construction with particular emphasis on contractor operations, documentation control and applying specifications to contract drawings.
Working knowledge of the Ontario Provincial Standards;
Knowledge of Autocad (version 14 or higher) and Microsoft Office software is essential.
Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications as well as familiarity with the construction tender process.
Valid driver's license and personal vehicle.
Education and Experience
Graduate of a Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology program.
Minimum of 15 years experience in a road construction environment, including at least 5 years experience as a Contract Administrator;
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
