Your Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Learning Designer to join our team for a one-year contract! Our team of learning specialists tailor training programs to align with the goals and culture of the organization. Our team combines adult learning principles, instructional design and technical writing with web and graphic technology to develop solutions for learning, performance and communication challenges.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop engaging learning activities and compelling course content

  • Work with subject matter experts to complete quality learning programs for self-paced and virtual deliveries. This may include development of needs assessments, learning objectives, course outlines, and content (e.g. eLearning storyboards, PowerPoint presentations, participant/facilitator guides, and learning manuals)

  • Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure effectiveness

  • Conduct quality assurance testing

  • Develop user guides, quick reference guides, and job aids

  • Produce “how to” videos for use of learning management systems

  • Work as a producer in Microsoft Teams or other virtual learning or meeting platforms

  • Edit documents in accordance with established style guidelines

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Excellent communication skills, including writing and editing

  • Bilingualism in English and French would be considered an asset

  • Ability to analyze learning aims and objectives to design training solutions

  • Ability to design and develop eLearning and instructor-led training materials for adult learners

  • Visual design skills to produce a variety of graphic, animation, audio-visual, simulation and script design and layout work for eLearning

  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate)

  • Experience with the Web environment (e.g., HTML, Javascript)

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite CS6 (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

  • Ability to quickly learn new software programs

  • Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to multi-task

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher education with specialization in Adult Education, Business, Instructional Design, Human Resources, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in learning and instructional design.
