To perform this role successfully, the Field Coordinator will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Provides technical support to construction activities at the worksites, while expediting design changes for timely response to construction inquiries
Understanding of Subsurface Utility Investigation and utility relocation.
Meets utilities on site, as required, to assist in accurate and timely locates.
Experience in the review of utility drawings
Studies drawings and specifications issued to the field and reports to Construction Manager any ambiguities, interferences or errors found on drawings, specifications and assigned work.
Reviews proposals for field changes and substitutions and recommends action to the Construction Manager for approval
Defines and implements inspection requirement for construction work to assure conformity to drawings and specifications
Ensures QA/QC with applicable codes, manufacturer’s instructions, vendor drawings and installation procedures required for fieldwork.
Enthusiastic, passionate, patient and should be a critical thinker.
Should possess good logical skills and ability to prioritize tasks depending upon the emergency situations.
Prepare and distribute site monitoring report
Qualifications
Qualifications:
A minimum of bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
Track Inspection Guidelines certification is an asset
Exposure working on rail & transit infrastructure projects
Experience in track construction, including construction methodologies, destressing, surfacing, lining, etc.
Knowledge of track components as needed, such as rail, ties, plates, spikes, timber crossings etc.
Knowledge of turnout components as needed, such as switch points, frogs, plates etc.
Experience in subsurface investigation and utility relocation, Supervision, Quality Control & Assurance
Experience in Construction Inspection, Supervision, Quality Control &Assurance
Experience in the field of Transportation, Structural & Geotechnical Engineering will be anasset.
Ability to work in Microsoft Office Tools, Auto CAD, MS Project. Team Player, excellent verbal and written communication skills
Leadership and conflict resolution skills
Ability to work under tight schedule
Ability to understand contract fundamentals, OPSS, CSA, Metrolinx, MTO, AREMA and other applicable standards.
Have valid Ontario driver's “G” license and access to a personal vehicle for travel.
Must be legally able to work in Canada.
