Your Opportunity

Stantec’s PMCM Client Solutions Group continues to respond to the needs of our clients and is currently recruiting for an individual to join our Capital Planning and Operational Readiness team within Stantec’s Program and Construction Management group (PMCM).

This position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work within a dynamic environment and collaborate with the Integrated Capital Planning and Operational Readiness – project management consultants to ensure we deliver a gold standard product that will contribute to optimal project delivery.

We are seeking to expand our team working on a number of major capital & operational readiness projects in the healthcare, education and commercial real estate sectors. The role of Senior Consultant is a full-time position, located in the GTA, with some travelling expected. You will work in collaboration with our team in an active, client-facing capacity and can draw on your previous capital planning knowledge to become a trusted advisor to our clients.

This role offers the opportunity to work directly with leaders in the fields of capital development, operational readiness, design, construction, and operations on a wide variety of major projects.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead facilitated planning sessions and client meetings to engage with clients to ensure exemplary experience, during all phases of capital and redevelopment projects from pre-project planning to closeout.

  • Use project planning processes and innovative solutions to develop client focused work plans, reports and presentations for effective client engagement and communication.

  • Assess the ongoing performance of client’s projects against project plans by conducting update sessions with client, design team, and contractors.

  • Preparation & analysis of Critical Path Management Schedules.

  • Contribute to the Program and Construction Management Group business goals through strategic promotion of service offerings and support the development of proposal responses and promotional materials.

  • Be accountable for fulfilling client contract obligations, while managing scope and budget of client service agreements.

  • Team player - working cohesively in a multi-faceted, dynamic team environment

  • Dependable to deliver high quality work products when promised

  • Efficient time manager with good prioritization skills, managing multiple competing deadlines with ease

Your Education and Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with major capital project planning and schedule development demonstrating collaboration with multiple teams

  • Undergraduate degree (Engineering, Architecture, or a related field) from an accredited institution

  • Professional licensure in Engineering or Architecture or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • Familiar with capital planning process for major redevelopment projects

  • Familiar with Ontario P3 procurement and project delivery process

  • Demonstrated understanding and application of project management processes and principles

  • Familiar with Ontario Ministry of Health capital planning process

  • Familiar with Municipal planning approval processes in Ontario

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office suite and the creative use of PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio for management reporting

  • Familiar with project management software (MS Project, Primavera)

  • Flexible work schedule to enable some extended hours and travelling as required

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or willingness to obtain

  • Valid driver’s license in Ontario.

Candidates must be comfortable with a mobile workplace environment (both Stantec offices and client sites in and outside the GTA) with a mix of individual work as well as small-team collaborative activity.
