Agilus is recruiting for a Turnaround Planner - Electrical and Instrumentation in the Oil and Gas industry in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Our client is one of Canada's biggest oil and gas companies and seeks a Turnaround Planner - Electrical & Instrumentation to begin working with their Fort McMurray team for a minimum 18 months. The primary responsibility of this role is preparing E&I scope work packages.
Responsibilities:
Strategy/Early Planning Phase: Develop Job Plans for assigned scope in accordance with the Job Plan Development Process. Leverage the Planning Norms database to provide preliminary hour estimates during the early budget development stage.
Planning Phase: Prepare work packages strictly adhering to the CNRL Turnaround Work Package Development Process. Conduct job walkdowns to ensure work packages are fully complete and satisfactory including all support craft requirements. Collaborate with Execution Coordinators, Mechanical Engineers, and Contractors to review scopes from a constructability perspective, ensuring tasks are properly planned. Participate in CWP reviews with execution coordinators and engineers to ensure the full scope of work is accurately reflected in work packages. Develop detailed task estimates, including duration and crew size for each activity. Review estimated hours with the execution team and secure approval before forwarding estimates to scheduler for P6 development. Develop Bill of Material (BOM) utilizing the standard template to identify all material needed for the scope of work. Work closely with material coordinators to identify the right parts needed for the scope of work and timely delivery of necessary materials. Identify and list any specialty tools, resources, or equipment required for the work. Work with Supply Chain Management personnel when dealing technical matters with OEM and Vendors. Provide regular progress updates to Planning Supervisors and proactively address any challenges to remove roadblocks and keep the planning on track.
Execution Phase: Support Planning the Scope Change Requests (SCR) during Execution phase. Be prepared to work extended work shift, day/night shift as required. Prepare to take over partially completed work packages from another planner and complete them during the shift. Assist execution teams as required during the execution phase. Collaborate closely with execution teams, schedulers, and document control to ensure the timely issuance of SCR work packages to contractors.
Post Phase: Contribute insights during lessons learned sessions, highlighting successes and areas for improvement. Update work packages with additional information gathered during the execution phase to ensure accurate historical records are kept for future reference.
Requirements:
A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in Electrical & Instrumentation Planning, with at least four (4) years specifically focused on Turnaround Planning Turnaround/shutdown experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or refinery sectors
Computer skills should include Maximo or equivalent CMMS, SPR, Excel and other tools in Microsoft Office Suite
Interprovincial Red Seal certification in Electrical and/or Instrumentation. Candidates with dual tickets in E & I are preferred. Technical diploma or relevant degree is preferred.
Strong understanding of the systems: Electrical Systems including Electrical Distribution System, MCC’s, UPS System, etc Instrumentation and Control systems including DCS, SIS, PLC, Process Control Instrumentation and Control Valves
Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, isometrics, electrical schematics, equipment datasheets, and GA drawings to effectively plan and execute maintenance activities for electrical & instrumentation systems
Demonstrate strong organizational skills, a proactive mindset, effective time management, and excellent communication abilities
Demonstrate managing competing priorities and timelines, particularly during execution phase of the turnarounds.
