Job Description: Our client within the transportation industry is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Pricing Analyst to join their team in Mississauga.
This is a permanent opportunity and requires 4 days of onsite work.
The ideal candidate will support strategic and tactical pricing initiatives by analyzing freight data, market trends, and operational costs to develop competitive and profitable pricing strategies.
Responsibilities:- Develop tailored pricing proposals in collaboration with Sales and Operations teams to meet customer-specific requirements.
- Analyze the financial impact of pricing changes, including new rate proposals, general rate increases (GRIs), and fuel surcharges.
- Track and evaluate industry pricing trends, competitor tariffs, and market dynamics to ensure optimized pricing strategies.
- Maintain and improve pricing tools, models, and databases such as CzarLite, Rateware, and SMC3 to support accurate rate management.
- Work cross-functionally with IT, Finance, and Sales to implement and update pricing systems, tools, and strategic initiatives.
- Perform post-implementation evaluations to measure pricing effectiveness and identify opportunities for refinement.
- Support RFP/RFQ processes by contributing to bid strategy, validating data, and preparing accurate and timely rate submissions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, or revenue management (LTL or transportation industry preferred).
- Strong proficiency in Excel; experience with SQL, Truckmate is a plus
- Familiarity with LTL pricing methodologies, density based CWT rating/ freight classes (NMFC), and transportation operations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced
environment.
