Imagine the excitement and ability to show off your incredible skills in a deployed environment (overseas) for six months coordinating shipping and receiving for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations from across the world! As a deployed Shipping and Receiving Coordinator, you are not just providing retail services, but enhancing the morale and welfare of all the troops deployed.
The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator is part of an enthusiastic team of adventurous individuals who enjoy meaningful employment and contributing in a team-based environment. Excited by the opportunity to deploy as a civilian among CAF personnel abroad, you are a team player with a positive attitude in a fast-paced setting. You are able to adapt to new challenges in an ever-changing dynamic environment.
The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator is responsible to receive, ship, and process all incoming and outgoing merchandise, packing, and ordering transportation. You will maintain all storage areas and merchandise to ensure it is in an organized and clean manner. You will coordinate the loading and unloading of inventory. Some other responsibilities include applying loss prevention controls, working with vendors, ensuring loss prevention and security measures, and assisting with stocktaking. There are many other rewarding job duties that you will be responsible for, that play a critical role in the success of the morale and welfare operations.
The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator plays an important role in enhancing the morale of CAF and partner nations by assisting with recreational activities and events. Keeping the military energized ensures they are mentally and physically ready to sustain the difficulties of military operations, and live healthy balanced lives.

Education, Certifications and Licenses

Forklift certification/experience, an asset

POSITION TYPE
Civilian deployment contracts are 6-month terms. Deployment start dates may take place within the next 2 years.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary: $37,300-$41,345 for six months.
Hours of work: Maximum 56 hours per week, which includes weekdays and weekends.
Tax free allowance: Possibility of up to $1,756 per month in addition to your salary (allowance rates are based on mission/location/date).
Home leave and travel allowance: Possibility of paid leave and travel allowance.
Accommodations and meals: Provided for duration of deployment.
Health benefits: Drug coverage, travel insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Excursions: Possibility to explore and experience the local culture and environment through activities like excursions off base.

Compensation: Fully paid attendance, including travel, accommodations and meals
Purpose: You will learn more in-depth about the day-to-day expectations, technical work-related training, as well as a basic understanding of military practices and procedures. This will give you an opportunity to learn more about our organization as well as interact with like-minded people that may be deploying with you. Your completion of the training session will be valid for 2 years.
