Salary: $111,131 - $132-717
 

Job Description

  •  Determining ongoing eligibility for compensation benefits to injured workers by evaluating all evidence.
  • Establishing and maintaining contact with workers’ and their families, employers’, health professionals, union representatives, worker/employer advocates and other interested parties to review the claim progress and expedite a timely and safe return to work.
  •  Arranging and maintaining professional services such as pain management intervention, financial counseling, psychological counseling, etc.
  • Assessing needs and facilitating interventions and referrals such as HRDC (Human Resources Development Canada), Counseling, etc.
  • Authorizing evaluation of services for vocational and functional assessments or work capacity evaluations.
  • Ensuring quality assurance measures, key performance indicators, and service standards are met.

What you bring to the role:
  • A bachelor’s degree in a social science
  • Four (4) years of Case management experience working with clients
  • Time management skills and experience with changing deadlines and priorities
  • Experience working with and developing vocational and rehabilitation plans
  • Investigative, analytical and evaluation skills with the ability to probe and gather required information

The Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission (WSCC) is a government agency responsible for administering the Workers' Compensation Acts, Safety Acts, Explosives Use Acts and the Mine Health and Safety Acts.

Together, with their partners, the WSCC provides services to almost 40,000 workers and 4,000 employers across the Northwest Territories and Nunavut, processes over 3,000 claims annually, and conducts over 1,000 inspections annually to ensure the safety of northern workplaces.
