The Corporate Sales & Structuring group is a team within Trading Products Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities (FICC) responsible for originating and executing hedging and financing transactions for BMO’s corporate and commercial clients. Working closely with investment, corporate and commercial banking, the team serves as product experts with a coverage universe including foreign exchange, interest rate and equity derivatives, structured finance, equity linked securities and commodities.
Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Director & Head, Commercial FX Sales, this position is responsible for quoting and booking foreign exchange transactions for branches and mid-sized corporates across Canada. The candidate contributes to the overall profitability of the Foreign Exchange Group through the maintenance of strong relationships with commercial clients, internal partners and branch representatives, and by ensuring accurate information is available and easily accessible.
Job Responsibilities:
1) Commercial / Retail FX sales
2) Systems and Information Management
Specific Accountabilities:
1) Commercial Client FX Sales.
- Provide pricing of foreign exchange currencies to Bank of Montreal commercial client segment
- Utilize data analysis skillset to identify new client opportunities.
- Quote & execute spot, forward, swap & options trades.
- Provide demos of Online Banking for Business (OLBB) to clients and troubleshoot issues
- Assist with onboarding & regulatory requirements for new clients
- Produce written presentations and pitch material as required
- Research and analyze financial market data; summarize data for recent trends and market developments
2) Branch/Client Relations
- Provide pricing of foreign exchange currencies to Bank of Montreal branches
- Quote spot and forward rates to branches as needed
- Provide demos of Online Banking for Business (OLBB) to clients and troubleshoot issues
- Ensure all branch and direct dealing transactions are correctly booked
- Assist with onboarding requirements for new clients
- Produce written presentations and pitch material as required
3) Systems and Information Management
- Ensure all systems rates are current and update when required
- Assist mid-market group with electronic systems
- Use appropriate systems to accurately price FX products
- Quote cross prices as needed i.e. €/£
- Manage a portfolio of small exotic currencies used for branch transactions, ensuring profitability is maximized.
Authorities:
- Advisory: This role provides FX pricing and information to branches and direct dealing corporate clients.
- Information Access: Authority to use and access confidential information related to product and financial information.
- Veto: Authority to stop something from happening because of significant compliance and risk exposure.

Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
- An undergraduate degree with outstanding academic achievement
- Specific academic coursework in finance, economics, math, engineering or accounting
- Strong understanding of, and keen interest in, the operation of the financial markets
- Relevant experience within financial markets, performing financial analysis in a client facing role is preferred
- Familiarity with basic derivatives including options and swaps
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly developed professional written and oral communication skills with a proactive mindset
- Expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools including MS Excel. Strong proficiency in other Microsoft Office products
- Programming ability in VBA desired but not required
- Ability to be creative, insightful and resourceful in performance of duties.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members, other groups, and clients. Need to be personable, confident, credible
- Ability to function in a demanding team environment, multi-task under what can be short timelines, and manage multiple projects and requests in an organized manner
- Excellent capability to independently function as part of a team through self-motivation
Base Pay Range
The salary for Analyst level role is CAD $95,000
The salary range for Associate level is CAD $110,000 to $120,000
Level and salary is subject to the candidate meeting the specific skills, experience, education, and qualification requirements.
