Maintain and promote a customer service oriented environment to meet and exceed customer needs and expectations. Makes credit decisions and recommendations in accordance with sound credit granting principles and Bank standards and procedures.
- Through analysis, identifies new sales opportunities for potential and existing corporate customers.
- Where appropriate, participate in customer site visits with other internal stakeholders.
- Maintain and promote a customer service environment that meets and exceeds customer needs and expectations.
- Recommend credit in accordance with sound credit granting principles.
- Utilize its unilateral discretionary corporate credit limits, as well as any prescribed approval limits.
- Support the implementation of strategic initiatives, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assess customers' ability to repay loans and advise on loan structure and collateral.
- Identify trends in customer activities that may predict deterioration in credit quality.
- Perform periodic credit reassessments where more frequent monitoring may be appropriate.
- Understand typical borrower types in the high net worth market and their relationship to collateral ownership, loan repayment, loan structure, etc.
- Authorize loan applications within prescribed limits, based on understanding of credit scoring and risk management concepts.
- Monitor customer commitments within the assigned portfolio to identify deteriorating credit conditions and validate compliance with the loan agreement.
- Provide accurate financial analysis and risk assessment of new and existing customers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to obtain accurate and detailed customer information.
- Develop credit information to make credit decisions on new loans, loan renewals and extensions.
- Assist in negotiating terms and conditions of all decisions made through telephone and email interactions with customers.
- Prepare summary, present facts and give opinion on creditworthiness.
- Minimize BMO's risk exposure by complying with internal credit policies and procedures with respect to credit decisions.
- Provide input into the planning and implementation of operational programs.
- Establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Focus primarily on one business line or operating group within BMO; adopt a broader, organization-wide focus as required.
- Use sound judgment to identify problems, determine causes and resolve them within established limits.
- Work independently on a wide range of complex tasks, which may represent unique situations.
- Broader duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- Typically four to six years of relevant work experience with post-secondary degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
