Assisted Living and Social Services provides supports for seniors, families and communities, and helps Albertans access disability services, financial supports, services for the homeless, continuing care services, and other social-based programs. This ministry supports Albertans through a person-centred, integrated service delivery model that recognizes the unique circumstances, experiences and strengths of individuals and families.

Role
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Continuing Care, the Executive Director, Licensing and Compliance Monitoring oversees activities to resolve compliance concerns and complaints in order to build confidence in Alberta’s continuing care and long-term care systems.  This is a critical role, and you will be responsible for overseeing the licensing, safety and quality monitoring and reporting as well as resolve compliance concerns and complaints on numerous departmental programs such as Continuing Care Health Service Standards; Accommodation Standards; Supportive Living Accommodation Standards; and Standards for Cleaning, Disinfection and Sterilization of Reusable Medical Devices for Health Care Facilities and Settings.  You will provide leadership by collaborating with Assisted Living Alberta, Alberta Health, Alberta Health Services and other health sector stakeholders to improve quality within the assisted living system.  With your talent, you provide strategic advice and recommendations to senior leadership to inform decision-making and direction setting as well as demonstrate the ability to oversee the continual enhancement of policies, strategies and processes to support efficient and effective compliance management strategies.  As a strong communicator you enable and foster an integrated approach and collaborative style about the health care system in Alberta and have an ability to manage multiple facets including audit, investigations and reporting to keep things in alignment with the department’s priorities. 

 


Qualifications
You have related senior management experience in a complex health or social service environment. You have demonstrated strengths in developing stakeholder relationships, policy recommendations and managing multi-stakeholder interests.  Your background may include a combination of expertise in health, social services, quality improvement, and human resource management.  Your strong communication skills enable you to take conceptual ideas and develop them into practical operational solutions that can be embraced within the Ministry and by the continuing care and assisted living system. A related degree is preferred.

 


Salary
 $5,234.94 - $6,879.68 bi-weekly ($136,631 - $179,559 annually)
