Reporting to Senior Legal Counsel, the Contract Specialist role will primarily support Rogers’ Consumer Major Accounts teams nationally, but may also be involved in files that extend beyond the Consumer Major Accounts teams. This role will primarily be responsible for ensuring that key legal documents are negotiated in compliance with corporate policies. 

 

What you'll do:

  • Draft, review and negotiate various templated legal contracts, documents and correspondence in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. 
  • Incorporate / comply with corporate legal contract management practices and processes.
  • Liaise with legal counsel and approved playbooks to propose alternate contract language where required and support contract revisions.
  • Maintain and update all key document templates. 
  • Participate in developing internal guidelines, policies and templates.
  • Keeping current with applicable law.
  • Support contract execution and administration as required (e.g., supporting contract approval and execution process).
  • Support knowledge sharing and development within the CMA team.
  • Support and train the CMA team on contract management, contract execution and systems practices and processes.
  • Assist with projects as required.
     

What you'll have:

  • Experience in contract management or contract administration.  
  • Experience drafting and reviewing a high volume of contracts. 
  • Legal degree, Law Clerk or Paralegal training, or significant experience in a legal department. 
  • Strong legal contract drafting knowledge.
  • Working independently with little supervision.
  • Knowledge of applicable legal terminology, and contract language interpretation.
  • Self motivated with excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word including “blackline” functionality, MS Excel).
  • Strong communication skills – oral and written are essential.
  • Ability to work accurately and effectively under pressure. 
  • Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to work with others as a team.
