Agilus is recruiting for a Facilities Technician (Millwright) in the Midstream Energy Sector in Airdrie, Alberta.
Our Midstream Oil and Gas client is hiring for a contract Facilities Technician (Millwright) for a contract opportunity with potential for extension. As a Facilities Technician, you're responsible for the safe, quality and timely repair of various mechanical assets associated with pipeline operation.
A typical day:
Read and interpret blueprints, schematic diagrams, shop drawings, specifications, and maintenance manuals.
Ability to utilize various tools including hand and power tools, as well as Vernier's, micrometers, bore gauges, dials, etc.,
Repair and maintenance of various equipment including: centrifugal compressors, gearboxes, pumps (pneumatic/hydraulic), dry gas seals, industrial engines (CAT, Waukesha, etc.), jet engines and power turbines, fans, coolers and lubrication skids.
Participation in Root Cause Failure Analysis of equipment when required.
Troubleshooting equipment during bench commissioning or function testing.
Must be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. This includes working closely with peers, engineers, managers, project stakeholders, etc. to achieve results in a timely fashion.
Inspection, teardown and assembly of components required for overhaul or repair.
Ensures that equipment, workspaces, and tools supplied by company are used for their intended purposes and are maintained in a safe working order.
Successful candidates will have:
Journeyperson Millwright with 5+ years of experience.
Must hold a valid Class 5 driver's license (cannot be a graduated license) with proven good driving record (abstract required).
Must be able to use Microsoft office suite including word, outlook, excel and mobile communication devices.
Must have effective time management skills to ensure training, expenses and timesheets are kept up to date.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision to complete tasks assigned in a quality and timely manner.
This is an overtime eligible position and workers should be ready and willing to work overtime as needed. This can include longer days, weekends and holidays.
Workers are eligible to support Field outages, when required, and should be prepared to travel for up to 10 days at a time. This will account for 15% or less of the worker’s time.
