Accounting Manager – Accounts Payable (Permanent Role)
Location: Toronto, ON

Our client, a well-established, family-owned Canadian manufacturer with over 30 years of excellence in liquid food and beverage production, is seeking an Accounting Manager – Accounts Payable to join their team. Renowned for innovation, quality, and exceptional customer service, they are looking for a dynamic leader to drive efficiency and compliance within their AP function.

About the Role:

As the Accounting Manager – Accounts Payable, you will oversee the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring timely payments, accurate reporting, and full regulatory compliance. You will lead and mentor a dedicated AP team, streamline internal processes, and play a key role in supporting audits and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and support the accounts payable team to ensure high performance and collaboration.

  • Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance AP operations.

  • Oversee vendor payments, monthly closings, and tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Ensure strict compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations.

  • Manage and analyze AP metrics, providing insights and recommendations to leadership.

  • Prepare reconciliations, financial reports, and support internal and external audits.

  • Review intercompany journal entries and ensure proper documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • CPA designation (or actively pursuing) is preferred.

  • 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.

  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency with ERP systems.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a strong asset.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
