Our client in the financial services industry is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented M&A Analyst to join their team in Toronto. This is a full-time, permanent position offering an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mergers and acquisitions within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The M&A Analyst will collaborate closely with an underwriting team that evaluates businesses across a wide range of industries and specializes in transactional risk.
This hybrid position (2 days in office) includes a comprehensive benefits package, 3 weeks of vacation, a bonus structure, RSP matching, and additional perks.
Roles and Responsibilities
Support the evaluation of M&A transactions by analyzing financial statements, purchase agreements, and industry trends.
Assist with the preparation of memos, documents, presentations, and internal reports.
Review and summarize due diligence findings and legal documentation.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including underwriters, advisors and legal counsel.
Participate in meetings and calls with clients to support deal execution and gather insights.
Manage deal timelines, organize documents, and coordinate communication across teams.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
2–4 years of relevant experience in a Analyst role within financial services or private equity
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with MS Office and Salesforce.
Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, collaborative environment.
