Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the multi-year Data As a Service strategy, roadmap and execution scaling platforms, data sets and products and AI use cases
  • Manage Enterprise Data Platforms (Big Data and AI/ML) providing best-in-class customer experience 
  • Evolve architecture, roadmaps and platforms in close collaboration with other Data teams
  • Enterprise Architecture and Cloud Centre of Excellence to ensure alignment and linkage to wider Bell transformation objectives (agility in value creation, improving customer experience while reducing infrastructure costs)
  • Translate technology capabilities and related investments to business benefits and communicate to executives and stakeholders
  • Manage strategic partner and vendor relationships including hyper scalers and other Big Data and AI/ML vendors
  • Manage internal partnerships across the organization to align and ensure collective vision and execution
  • Develop world-class talent and skills
  • Support and scale a team of 2 Senior Managers and 15 employees (Bell) to 50 FTEs

Critical Qualifications

  • Experience in modelling and structuring data set and data products, with a product managements and software-automation first mindset
  • Experience or exposure to product development in a data/SW environment
  • Strong business acumen, with an appreciation for the opportunities and constraints that accompany an ever-evolving competitive environment
  • Passion for data/AI/ML and related data technologies and use of data for business value creation
  • Ability to create and lead a team of highly skilled data engineers, scientists and software development professionals
  • Experience of managing operations (lifecycle, SRE practice, incident management processes)
  • Experience of Cloud technologies specifically related to data and AI/ML

Additional Critical Qualifications

  • Strong track record in developing strong partnerships and cross-team collaboration
  • Strong understanding of scalable, real time architectures and platforms
  • Strong track record delivering and operations of high-quality solutions on time and on budget
  • Interpersonal and executive presentation skills
  • Proven project management and change management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Software Engineering, Business Intelligence, Product Development or related
  • Min. 8+ years experience in strategy, planning, software development, engineering, consulting, product development, analytics or related disciplines
  • Min. 8+ years of direct people leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

•    Experience of Network/IT/BI operations
•    Experience of migration and operations in Cloud
•    Experience in the IT systems and wireless, wireline networks
•    Hands on experience with software development and related processes
•    Experience in modern data technologies and frameworks
