Summary

 

As an advocate of a business function and in the role of Senior Project Manager, the successful candidate will lead various types of projects (Transformation, New Product Introduction, New Tool Introduction, Tool and/or Process Enhancements, Non-Standard Complex Solutions, etc.) in order to drive growth, optimization and provide exceptional customer service.

Within the BBM Managed Services and Security Transformation team, the Senior Project Manager will be actively involved in the Always Get Better (AGB) program to evolve the customer experience to the next level using new technologies, automation and artificial intelligence.  The role will require working actively with a team of IT and Business experts in an agile environment.  The individual will contribute to the Managed Services train as an epic owner and will work collaboratively with stakeholders to define the epic (SAFe Agile equivalent to project) and its business case.  They will be responsible for coordinating epics through the program Kanban and will lead the change management piece along with coordinating teams inside and outside the train.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Overall management of capital funded strategic projects and local initiatives including budget, timeline and scope 
  • Works closely with senior resources in other departments to define project scope
  • Prepares all necessary documentation to formally initiate a project & monitor project development 
  • Sets project timelines (with input from work package owners) and schedules delivery in manageable components
  • Leads and collaborates on elaboration of business cases to support project scope and/or monetary investment
  • Ownership of activities related to change management, stakeholders’ management, communication and training through a change management plan
  • Facilitation of work sessions, focus groups and design thinking workshops 
  • Documentation of project reviews, meetings, work sessions, action-registers
  • Preparation & facilitation of executive presentations related to project scope, timeline, activities, issues, budget and progress as required
  • Ownership of the customer experience and accountability to put required plan in place to measure and adapt 
  • Responsible for communication management with stakeholders and executives (dashboard, status reports, etc.)
  • Ensures that quality standards are adhered to and that projects are completed on time, on scope and on budget
  • Closely monitors timelines and project cost to ensure adherence with approved project plans
  • Variances to plan will be documented, communicated, reported, and escalated if required
  • Disclose risks and roadblocks to senior project management and suggests possible workarounds or financial actions to be implemented
  • Assumes responsibility and ownership for strategic initiatives as well as funded projects, and has a great deal of customer contact and accountability
  • Leads post project activities and evaluations
  • Establishes project governance

Critical Qualifications

 

  • University degree in a related field
  • Exceptional project management skills with demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Exceptional writing, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead teams effectively by maximizing each team member’s abilities and skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and risk management skills
  • Effective customer/sponsor relationship-building skills with the ability to instill confidence
  • Strong sense of organization and autonomy as well as time and priority management when working under aggressive timelines
  • Must be proficient in MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, JIRA
  • Advanced knowledge of Bell Business Market products and services
  • Strong aptitude to recognize opportunities for improvement and take appropriate action 
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex, multi-platform solutions
  • Strong understanding and experience with governance and change management principles 
  • Must have at least 3 years of Project Management experience 
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in a related business field
  • Good knowledge of the Project Management Institute’s approach to Project Management and demonstrated successful completion of an advanced Project Management course

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Previous exposure and understanding of Business Systems and Architecture    
  • Business acumen in the area of the customer organization (Sales, Presales, Operations, Managed Services (MS), Professional Professional Services (PS), Service Assurance (SA), etc.) 
  • Developed experience in creating / improving and documenting processes (mapping, charting, RACI charts etc.)
  • Good understanding of financial management principles
  • Familiarity with PEATS Finance Tool, IPC BBM Governance Process
  • PMP Designation or equivalent
