Our client, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Planning Analyst (SFPA). In this role, the SFPA will provide data governments, financial reporting, analysis, budgeting/forecasting, identification of risks and opportunities for projects/portfolio assigned.

This full-time, permanent role is in Toronto with a hybrid schedule (2 days on-site) and comes with excellent benefits. It presents an opportunity to be part of a dynamic and expanding industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Systematically managing financial records through continuous monitoring, reconciliation, analysis, and reporting of data.
  • Handling specific responsibilities tied to month-end processes, including variance reviews, quarterly forecasts, and yearly budget preparation across multiple portfolios.
  • Collaborating with internal partners to assess new business initiatives, helping to uncover related risks and opportunities that could impact the organization.
  • Supporting compliance deliverables on a monthly or quarterly basis by conducting detailed analysis to produce accurate and timely financial and statistical reports.
  • Enhancing collaboration across the finance team and other departments by maintaining open lines of communication and providing constructive feedback.
  • Working with high-level, sensitive financial information related to programs, patients, departments, and personnel. This includes evaluating internal controls, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures (such as policies, MIS guidelines, PSAB standards from the CICA Handbook), and meeting all regulatory compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Professional designation of CPA and/or near completion
  • A minimum of 5 years of full cycle financial planning and analysis working experience is required
  • Excellent analytical, problem recognition and problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation, analysis of major databases, and understanding of relational databases is required. Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems, patient information systems, HR applications, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) 
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to apply critical thinking, and reporting of findings that are relevant and value-add
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external departments are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a consultative, facilitative role with is essential, as are well developed interpersonal and communication skills (verbal/written), sound judgment, discretion, tact, and courtesy.
  • A commitment to high quality work along with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks while responding to a multiplicity of demands in a dynamic environment is essential.
  • Self-starter who has the ability to work both independently through self-directed learning/working with minimal supervision, as well as, collaboratively and through teamwork
  • A commitment to high quality work along with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks while responding to a multiplicity of demands in a dynamic environment is essential.
  • Experience with presenting to Senior Management and Executives is an asset
