Our Shift nurses provide extended visits for clients who are medically fragile, technologically dependent children, chronic/complex care adults, palliative, require pain and symptom management, and much more.
Job Summary:
The Registered/Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for the provision and management of client and family-centered, evidence-based, efficient nursing care to individuals and families in their homes and community. The Registered/Licensed Practical Nurse ensures care is provided within the framework of quality & risk management and the standards and scope of practice set by VON and the relevant provincial regulatory body. The Registered/Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for safe and appropriate teaching, assignment, and delegation of tasks to different categories of workers.

Working conditions and physical demands: This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals in the role are required to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
