The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) has 1 (one) exciting fixed-term opportunity up to March 31, 2028 within the Technology branch at CATSA HQ.

Summary of responsibilities:

The Senior Advisor, Program Deployment is responsible for the planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing of program deployment projects at Canadian airports. They are also responsible to ensure that the business objectives/scope of these projects are achieved to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of the project’s design and implementation. The Senior Advisor, Program Deployment performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.

What you need to succeed

To qualify for the position, you must have:

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a specialization in Engineering, Business Administration, Business Management, Project Management, or another speciality relevant to the duties of the position.

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience scheduling, planning, and managing large-scale projects that include the delivery and installation of heavy and complex pieces of equipment.

  • Knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of project planning, estimating and budget and contract management.

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of shipping, delivery, installation, and site preparation.

This position is best suited to individuals with the following skills and abilities:

  • Ability to plan, prioritize and multi-task on several concurrent projects.

  • Ability to lead, persuade, negotiate, liaise effectively, and engage others.

  • Strong teamwork orientation.

  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with various audiences, both orally and in writing.

  • Strong technical and analytical skills.

  • Ability to manage large, complex budgets.

  • Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment.

  • Flexibility and creative problem-solving.

Valuable skills include:

  • Skills and knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.

  • Knowledge of the operation of HBS and PBS systems or screening technologies.

  • A P. Eng, PMP, or MCPM (Masters Certificate in Project Management).

  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders, including equipment manufacturers/suppliers, and facility owners.

  • Experience in the air transportation or security industries.

  • Knowledge of CATSA's mandate and priorities, as well as an awareness of relevant legislation impacting CATSA.

  • Ability to review technical drawings, schematics, and field installation plans.

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD software.

Specific work requirements: 

 

  • Ability to work overtime as required;

  • Ability to travel as required;

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
