We are working with a Federal Government client seeking a Bilingual Support Technician to join them onsite in Ottawa for a 6-month contract!

The Support technician will be working on a large-scale smartphone upgrade initiative within the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Preparing smartphones for user deployment.
  • Conducting on-site user upgrade appointments lasting 30–45 minutes each.
  • Validating user data backups prior to initiating transfers.
  • Migrating user data using approved transfer tools.
  • Validating the functionality and configuration of new smartphones (email, apps, security settings).
  • Wiping old smartphones securely according to organizational standards.
  • Updating asset records in ServiceNow to track device assignment and decommissioning.
  • Collecting user feedback and sign-off upon completion.
  • Reporting daily progress and issues to the Project Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bilingual in French & English.
  • Hold a valid Secret Security Clearance.
  • One (1) year of experience in the last three (3) years working in a Help Desk or Desktop Support environment.
  • Six (6) months of experience in the last three (3) years troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
  • Six (6) months of experience supporting Microsoft Windows 10 or Microsoft Windows 11 both remotely and desk-side.
  • Six (6) months of experience supporting Microsoft Office 2016 or Microsoft Office 365 both remotely and desk-side.
  • Six (6) months of experience using Microsoft Active Directory to manage users, computers, and groups on an enterprise network.
  • Six (6) months of experience using Microsoft Exchange 2016 Management Console or Exchange Online (EXO) in creating and managing email accounts on an enterprise network.
