Reporting to the Manager, Business Integration and Coordination, the Information Resource Project Lead will lead projects to ensure effective planning, implementation, and communication of cross-sector initiatives impacting policies, programs, and systems. This includes collaboration with subject matter experts, coordination of tasks and deliverables, and change management leadership. The successful candidate will use their knowledge of project management and continuous improvement methodologies to ensure success on high priority projects that they oversee. This knowledge takes the shape of guiding Ministry representatives and stakeholders through process improvements and other project initiatives.
This position is also accountable for the coordination and development of accurate, up-to-date resources for Alberta Student Financial Services, including web-based and PDF applications, forms, and schedules for student loan and scholarship programs. It involves collaborating with cross-department teams to ensure students and the public have access to accurate funding information.
This position acts with a high degree of autonomy for problem solving and decision making related to the initiatives they lead.

Proactively manages changes in project scope, identify issues and risks, and devise contingency plans. Analyses expected changes to identify potential impacts to divisional processes. Develop and support implementation of change management plans including strategies to mitigate identified risks.
Develop Networks: Involves stakeholders in the identification and resolution of issues; promotes and engages in positive conflict resolution. Addresses issues as early as possible to reduce risk of escalation and significant impacts. Sets up processes for ongoing communication with relevant stakeholders. Acknowledges and works with diverse perspectives to achieve outcomes.
Creative Problem Solving: Identify issues, define problems, provide analysis and develop strategies to determine the most appropriate approach and practice to use to achieve results. Maintain strong, positive working environment where project staff feel comfortable voicing opinions and ideas and finding creative solutions.
University graduation in Arts, Social Science, Public Administration, Business, Education, or Science or in a related field plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
