Step into a leadership role at the core of Alberta’s financial operations overseeing the reporting and accounting of more than $40 billion in investments and $100 billion in debt. As Manager, Investment and Debt Accounting Reporting, you’ll drive excellence in financial consolidation, transparency, and compliance across multiple public-sector portfolios.
Reporting to the Director of the Investment and Debt Accounting Group (IDAG) within Treasury Board and Finance, you will lead a team of professional accountants responsible for preparing high-quality, timely financial statements and disclosures for government debt, loan portfolios, investment and endowment funds, public service pension plans, and commercial enterprises. You will champion the implementation and maintenance of the Debt Derivatives Management System (DDMS/Quantum), ensure the integrity of accounting policies, and partner closely with the Office of the Auditor General to facilitate seamless audit cycles.

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; a professional accounting designation (CPA–CA, CPA–CMA, or CPA–CGA); plus a minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in complex financial reporting and accounting; demonstrated expertise in public-sector accounting frameworks (PSAB, IFRS, pension standards); proven experience with large investment and debt portfolios, including derivatives and foreign-currency transactions; and working knowledge of ERP and financial systems.

This position is a permanent, full-time position working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary. This competition may be used to fill future roles at the same or lower classifications.
