Our municipal client is seeking a SAP Basis Administrator to join their team!
Key Details:
- Contract Length: 6 months (possibility of extension)
- Hours: 35 hours/week
- Location: Remote – 2 days/month onsite in Oakville, ON.
Project Details: Reporting to the Supervisor, Enterprise Applications, this position will play a key role in SAP BASIS and database administration including day-to-day system maintenance and support, software updates and upgrades like SAP Support Pack Updates, security patches, OSS notes, database management and innovation alerts remediation as part of State of Good Repairs program to ensure that the software application is up-to-date. This position will also participate in system implementation and maintenance for SAP ECC modules and SuccessFactors HCM including authorization roles and system integration.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Monitors and maintains SAP Oracle database and Sybase database;
- Monitors and maintains SAP systems including SAP ECC, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP Enterprise Portal, SAP Web Dispatcher, Solution Manager, SuccessFactors;
- Leads, manages and performs SAP Support Package stack upgrade;
- Leads, manages and performs CLC and Yearend Master Notes upgrade;
- Creates and maintains authorization roles as required;
- Provides production support as required;
- Provides BASIS tasks to support project implementation;
- Performs client copy and system refresh as required;
- Performs database backup and restore as required;
- Upgrades SAPGUI as required;
- Upgrade SAP ECC and S/4 HANA as required;
- Performs BASIS tasks to support IT infrastructure maintenance;
- Supports SAP external audit;
- Monitors the SAP & SuccessFactors innovation alerts and take actions to maintain systems in Sate of Good Repair;
- Monitors and applies security patch to minimize the risk of security breach;
- Develops Process Runner Scripts as required;
- Support other third-party software including LiveCompare, Gold Client, Infopad and etc.;
- Backup supports for co-workers in other modules as required;
- Leads enhancement project work as required;
- Works with internal and external resources to implement approved changes;
- Liaises and collaborates with vendors/contractors as required;
- Transfers knowledge to other co-workers including knowledge base documentation and training;
- Provides afterhours standby support and works overtime as required;
Qualifications and Skills:
- University Degree in Computer Science or equivalent education
- Minimum 10 years of IT experience
- SAP Basis certification is required.
- Experience working within SAP ECC6 environment
- 8+ years proven experience in SAP BASIS/DBA Administration, SuccessFactors Administration, SAP technology architect, project implementation, and system support; SAP BASIS Certification required
- Strong hands-on experience (8+ years) in SAP Oracle and Sybase database administration, including backup and restore
- Strong hands-on experience (6+ years) in SAP authorization roles
- Strong hands-on experience (6+ years) in SAP Support Package stack upgrades
- Strong hands-on experience (6+ years) in researching and implementing new SAP technologies/tools
- Strong hands-on experience (4+ years) in SuccessFactors administration
- Strong hands-on experience (4+ years) in SAP Solution Manager, Gateway, BW, EP, Web Dispatcher administration
- Strong hands-on experience (4+ years) in SAP ITS (HTML GUI)
- Knowledge and experience in SAP ECC, SuccessFactors, and non-SAP systems integration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Good interpersonal communication skills, team player
- Ability to balance multiple concurrent activities with a flexible and positive demeanor
- Effective team collaboration and leadership abilities
- Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and data management skills
Nice to Haves:
- Knowledge and experience in SAP ECC upgrade and/or S/4 HANA conversion
- Knowledge and experience in ABAP development, SAPScript, and FIORI app development
- Knowledge and experience in Process Runner script development
- Knowledge and experience in SAP HCM, FI/CO, MM, PM modules
