Our client, a leading home builder and developer, is seeking a Residential Site Superintendent to join their team in Ottawa.

In this high-impact leadership role, you will manage the full lifecycle of residential construction projects—from site setup to execution and final handover—while managing employees, crews, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors with professionalism and precision.

If you have 5-8+ years of experience overseeing large-scale low-rise residential wood-frame developments from start to finish, a proven track record of successful project delivery, and exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills, we want to hear from you.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and manage the full construction site operation from set-up through project completion and handover
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor construction production schedules and site management plans.
  • Lead subcontractor meetings, manage performance, and ensure work meets architectural and engineering standards.
  • Conduct regular quality control inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Resolve site conflicts promptly and implement contingency plans to minimize project risk.
  • Enforce all site safety protocols, ensuring all workers have required training and compliance with legislative safety standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate project closeouts by adjusting schedules and coordinating final inspections.
  • Report construction progress regularly to management and escalate any issues that could affect project timelines or budgets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-8+ years of experience as a Site Superintendent or Construction Supervisor, with extensive full-cycle experience working on large-scale residential low-rise wood construction projects.
  • Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, field drawings, and project plans.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience, including the management of employees, crews, work sites, and contractors.
  • Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution using comprehensive project management principles.
  • Proven ability to manage contractors within the terms of construction contracts and enforce company standards.
  • Excellent communication, integration, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform under high-pressure conditions and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A valid driver's license and updated safety certifications are required.

Please note that this is a full-time, permanent on-site position offering a competitive base salary, a generous bonus structure, comprehensive benefits, paid vacation, a personal vehicle, RRSP matching, and a wide range of additional perks.
