Our federal government client is seeking a seasoned Senior Oracle Strategist to design and implement a comprehensive Oracle Asset Management process. This consulting engagement is aimed at optimizing Oracle software assets, ensuring compliance, enhancing visibility, and negotiating critical contracts such as Oracle Java agreements.


Location: Hybrid (Ottawa, ON)
Contract: 1-Year Term | Approximately 15 Hours/Week
Language Requirement: English Essential
Security Clearance: Secret


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic design, deployment, and integration of a comprehensive Oracle Asset Management process while providing expert-level advisory support on Oracle licensing and software entitlements.

  • Conduct a thorough assessment of the current Oracle footprint, evaluating both on-premise and cloud deployments, and identifying critical data points across client and server environments, with a focus on Oracle Java.

  • Negotiate and lead stakeholder consultations for new Oracle Java contracts, aligning agreements with business objectives and budget constraints, while training internal teams on negotiation best practices.

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive Oracle reports including contract roadmaps, licensing cost implications, asset management strategies, process improvement recommendations, and policy compliance measures based on assessment findings.

  • Provide structured knowledge transfer and training sessions to internal staff, ensuring sustainable internal expertise for ongoing Oracle asset management and contract negotiations.


Mandatory Requirements

  • At least six years of experience in Oracle software contracting and asset management within large federal government departments.

  • At least eight years of experience managing Oracle software entitlements, including conducting baseline assessments and audit defense for Oracle Java deployments.

  • Diploma/Degree or Certificate in a relevant field from a recognized Canadian Secondary School Institute.
