Summary of responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Affairs, the Senior Advisor, Policy and Planning is responsible for leading the development and delivery of strategic planning activities and supporting the corporate reporting function. The Senior Advisor, Policy and Planning provides guidance and oversight to the policy advisors and performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.
What you need to succeed
To qualify for the position, you must have:
Graduation from a recognized college or university with a specialization in public administration, political science, law, social sciences, or another speciality relevant to the duties of the position.
A minimum of five years of experience working in strategic policy or strategic planning, including the development of key corporate documents such as the Corporate Plan, Annual Report or documents of similar nature.
Experience in planning and leading multi-branch projects.
Experience liaising with various stakeholders and preparing verbal and written presentations and reports for senior management.
Experience in bringing a wide range of considerations and perspectives to issues, analyzing a variety of information to make logical, well-reasoned and effective recommendations and decisions.
Strong understanding of the machinery of government including the role of central agencies and the legislative framework for corporate planning and reporting.
Strong policy background with a demonstrated ability to translate changes in CATSA’s operating environment into business and operational implications for the corporation.
Knowledge of environmental scanning practices and principles.

Understanding of budgeting processes and financial statements.
Specific work requirements:
Ability to work overtime as required;
Ability to travel as required
Language Profile: BBBB;
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; and
Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
