Veterinary Technician, Intern Position

Scarborough, ON

Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital is welcoming new graduate technicians who are looking to get their feet wet and explore the world of Emergency and Referral Veterinary Medicine at a state-of-the-art facility.

This 6-month-long program pairs these technician interns alongside our amazing team of RVTs in rotations in ICU, Triage, and Anesthesia along with Internal Medicine, Neurology & Oncology. During this time, we hope you engage and learn and see if this avenue of veterinary medicine is right for you!

• Have completed a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program.
• New graduates with knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy - welcome to apply!  We love growing new graduates!
• Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records.
• Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients and their pet parents
• Ability to problem-solve or the ability to ask clarifying questions to help you find solutions.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues and pet parents.  
• Passion to learn more within the role.
• A love for all companion animals!!
