About Our Opportunity

 

Need a summer job but don’t want to spend all day behind a desk inside? Come work for us and help maintain our beautiful provincial parks!

 

As a Summer Student Cashier in our Wetland Centre at the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park, you will primarily be responsible for the retail gift shop, including displays of merchandise, keeping track of inventory and offering sales assistance to our customers.  You will be responsible for cash and POS transactions, balancing the till, and submitting deposits regularly.  You may be required to open and/or close the Centre according to Park procedures. You may also support other visitor services positions at the admissions booth and the Wildlife Station as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

 

To be successful, you must be a full-time student in high school, college, or university, and be returning to school in the next applicable academic semester. 

 

You should be well organized, capable of working in a team environment, and independently. You must be a self-started and able to work with minimum supervision while demonstrating good judgement, with experience having basic cashier skills. 

 

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examinations, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks. 

Additional Information

 

This is a summer student position with an anticipated end date of August 31, 2025. Your rate of pay is established based on your current academic level. Proof of academic enrollment may be required.

 

     

Pay Grade:  HOURLY 

Salary Range:  $15.73 - $29.69 Hourly
