Experience:
Stream 1: SO-MAO-08: **6 cycles of operational experience as Chief officer on a large vessel (1200GT or greater) OR 6 cycles of operational experience as SO-MAO-06 or higher
Stream 2: SO-MAO-09: **6 cycles of operational experience as Chief officer on a large vessel (1200GT or greater) OR 6 cycles of operational experience as SO-MAO-06 or higher
Stream 3: SO-MAO-10: **6 cycles of operational experience as Chief officer on a large vessel (1900GT or greater) OR 6 cycles of operational experience as SO-MAO-07 or higher
**A “cycle of operational experience” denotes operational cycles based on a 28 day period on a sea going vessel

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:
Experience working in a shore position relating to Coast Guard Operations. *CGOO 516 requirements to be fully met before hiring indeterminately into a Senior Officer at Sea position (SO-MAO-09 and SO-MAO-10)
Experience as Master on seagoing vessels
Experience, at any level, in any or all of the following CCG programs
Aids to Navigation
Search and Rescue
Icebreaking
Conservation and Protection
Science Research Program
Working with other Government Departments (RCMP, DND, Environment Canada or any others)
ORGANIZATIONAL NEED

This process may be used to staff CCG vessels in the MSET (Marine Security Enforcement Teams) program. In order to be considered for the MSET program, candidates must pass a Law Enforcement Records and Credit Check (LERCC) conducted by the RCMP.

Salary for SO-MAO-08 - $53.10 - $58.88 per hour.
Salary for SO-MAO-09 - $57.17 – $63.38 per hour.
Salary for SO-MAO-10 - $62.31 - $69.09 per hour.
