Agilus is recruiting for a Industrial Control System Engineer/Technologist in the Oil and Gas Sector in Edmonton, Alberta.
Our midstream client is hiring a contract ICS Engineer/Technologist to support process control, networking, and data communication systems used in their pipeline systems. Provide input for defining and implementing strategies regarding system operations
Responsibilities:
Support the development, implementation and maintenance of process control systems for pipelines across Canada.
Assist capital projects through the implementation of the control system.This includes reviewing and contributing to design documents such as drawing packages, shutdown keys and control narratives.
Technical coordination and/or implementation of configuration, programing, and commissioning of control system PLCs and HMIs.
Provide technical support for the ongoing operation of installed systems in the areas of process control and data communication technologies. This includes recommending solutions to operational issues and resolving problem reports.
Provide on-call support when required.
Participate in failure analyses and investigations related to the process control and related systems used in operations.
Support the ongoing maintenance of the control system asset and program inventories.
Work cohesively with cross-functional teams.
Successful candidates will have:
4 or more years progressive control systems engineering experience.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the engineering design of control systems including engineering drawings, control narratives, & shutdown keys at a minimum.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills of PLC hardware selection, configuration, programming, acceptance testing, and commissioning. Schneider Modicon PLC platform preferred, Rockwell also of interest.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills of HMI hardware selection, configuration, programming, acceptance testing, and commissioning. AVEVA Edge, Wonderware, Proface, or PanelView preferred.
Working knowledge of communications systems used by control systems.
Knowledge of control system related practices, standards, specifications, and codes.
Soft skills:
Proven ability to prioritize and manage assignments to meet timelines and manage expectations.
