Curriculum and Career Education Division
The Curriculum and Career Education Division provides strategic leadership in establishing provincial standards and guidelines for curriculum for all subjects and grades Kindergarten to Grade 12. As part of the ministry’s ongoing focus on student learning, the division reviews, revises and maintains provincial programs of study, and learning and teaching resources in English and French, and integrates First Nations, Métis and Inuit education.
Reporting to the Director, the Career Education Consultant supports the development and maintenance of high-quality curriculum in careers-based programming (e.g., dual credit and off-campus education programming). The Career Education Consultant supports future careers-based curriculum development in alignment with The Guiding Framework for the Design and Development of Kindergarten to Grade 12 Provincial Curriculum (Programs of Study). This individual must be well connected with the education community to stay informed of issues.
The Career Education Consultant is primarily accountable for the content and quality of career-based programming, related policy, and complex projects. Therefore, the position has effective control over the significant activities and resources which produce the career-based curriculum and is the position which must answer for the results.
The Career Education Consultant may represent the department on subject- or program-area related committees at the provincial and national levels.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and seven years of related experience.
Or
Master’s Degree in a related field plus five years related experience or equivalent as described below.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered based on:
Teaching and leadership experience at the school, jurisdictional, and/or provincial level.

This is a full-time permanent position, working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday based out of Edmonton.
