We are seeking an experienced Interim CFO to join our clients growing organization in the fitness and wellness manufacturing sector. This position requires an individual with a strong background in financial management, a CPA designation, and experience working within manufacturing accounting. As an Interim Controller, you will oversee the external audit this summer, lead a team of 5-6 accounting professionals, and manage various financial processes, including monthly and quarterly reporting. This is a contract role with the potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the external audit this summer, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Lead a team of 5-6 accounting professionals and provide direction and oversight on daily financial activities.
  • Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring accurate financial statements are prepared for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monthly reporting for and quarterly reporting for Lenders.
  • Act as a business partner to other departments to ensure alignment on financial strategies and operations.
  • Support the financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning.
  • Provide financial insight and guidance to senior leadership to support informed decision-making.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • CPA required.
  • 10-15 years of experience in financial leadership roles.
  • Strong experience in manufacturing accounting is highly beneficial.
  • Experience with Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
  • Solid understanding of Sage accounting system (or similar ERP systems). 
  • Audit experience is critical, especially leading external audits.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team with minimal oversight.
  • Experience with financial reporting to investors and lenders.
