Our client in the public sector is seeking a Technical Design Lead Consultant to support a business transformation program. The consultant will be responsible for defining the technical roadmap, aligning design with business goals, overseeing architecture and solution design, managing a technical team, and ensuring high-quality technical deliverables throughout the program lifecycle.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Align technical design and architecture with overall business objectives.

  • Define and communicate the technical design approach to program leadership and IT stakeholders.

  • Lead the development of a long-term technical roadmap, including key decisions on tools, technologies, and architecture.

  • Oversee the design of scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions.

  • Ensure system integration and compatibility with existing processes and technologies.

  • Present technical solution options with clear documentation and recommendations.

  • Provide direction and establish priorities for the technical design team

  • Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Resolve technical issues and guide teams through challenges.

  • Manage technical backlogs and sprint deliverables using Agile practices.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks.

  • Promote and enforce quality assurance standards and best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Over 15 years of experience in the IT industry, including software development, systems engineering, and IT consulting.
  • Proven track record in leading enterprise-level software system design and overseeing business application portfolios.
  • More than 5 years of experience collaborating directly with senior IT leadership and executive-level stakeholders.

Education

  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Experience in a insurance industry
