Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction is the government’s solution provider and supports the significant events in Albertans’ lives, like having a child, getting married, mourning the loss of a loved one, getting a driver’s license, or buying a home.
Our ministry is responsible for protecting consumers in an increasingly complex economic environment; overseeing registry activities, like vehicle, business and land registrations; and cutting red tape by one-third to reduce costs, speed up approvals, and make life easier for hard-working Albertans and businesses. The ministry also oversees the policies and legislation related to the regulation of the alcohol, cannabis, gaming, and horse racing industries in the province.

The Consumer, Registry, and Strategic Services Division is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, organized individual with strong leadership and communication skills to join our team. Through the Consumer Services Branch, the ministry supports a fair, effective marketplace for landlords and tenants.
The Market and Industry Standards unit is seeking a Statute Administrator to be responsible for the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) and Mobile Home Sites Tenancies Act (MHSTA), as well as other consumer protection legislation. You will provide expert legislative, policy and program analysis and advice to politicians, staff, and external and internal stakeholders. You will respond to public enquiries, develop recommendations, policies and processes, and implement legislative amendments to ensure an informed and fair marketplace. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team player is crucial.
The policy and client service work undertaken by the incumbent is complex and requires compassion and tact when dealing with highly emotional issues. Excellent communication and human relation skills are required.
