Our client in the Non-Profit space is hiring for a Health and Wellness Coordinator to join their team on a 1 year contract! This is an exciting opportunity working in a hybrid model in Mississauga. 

The Health and Wellness Coordinator is responsible for managing health-related absences, workplace injury claims, and accommodations to support employee well-being and a safe return to work. This role involves working closely with insurance providers, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure efficient claims processing and compliance with workplace health and safety policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage health-related claims, including WSIB cases and non-occupational absences.
  • Review and assess medical documentation for leave and accommodation requests.
  • Coordinate return-to-work plans and accommodations in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Maintain accurate records and track all active and pending claims.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, including participation in JHSC meetings.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and support workplace wellness programs.
  • Assist with the immunization program for new hires.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Health, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in claims management and WSIB processes.
  • Experience in healthcare or the non-profit sector is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple locations.
