Our client in the Non-Profit space is seeking and HR Administrator on a 3- month contract to assist with HR operations during the recruitment process. The HR team consists of 2 people, and this individual will play a key role in recruitment, onboarding, and supporting the administrative side of HR functions.

This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days on-site and 2 days remote in Toronto. Office Location is Boor Street West.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for initial screening of applications, vetting candidates, and sending to the manager for review.
  • Schedule interviews and pre-screen applicants before interviews.
  • Draft interview questions in collaboration with the hiring manager and help prepare recruitment packages.
  • Administer references and conduct any necessary testing.
  • Manage the full onboarding process including document collection and ensuring all information is sent to the appropriate parties.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth orientation and onboarding for new employees.
  • Assist with offboarding for departing employees.
  • Ensure benefits and pension plan details are accurate.
  • Perform data entry for payroll, including entering timesheets into the system (ADP Workforce Now)
  • Maintain records and files for all employees, ensuring all documentation is kept up-to-date and accurate.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of HR administration experience, ideally within a government agency or non-profit organization.
  • Familiarity with HR software (ADP Workforce Now) and general HR processes is required.
  • Relevant education in Human Resources or related field is preferred.
  • Must have experience in recruitment, onboarding, payroll entry, and general HR administrative tasks.
  • Ability to manage high-volume recruitment (5+ roles) efficiently.
  • Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to manage confidential documents with the highest level of professionalism and discretion.
