Agilus is recruiting for a Process Engineer (Turnaround) in the Oil and Gas industry in Sturgeon County, Alberta.
As part of the Process Engineering Services Department, the Process Engineer will report to the Assigned Lead Process Engineer in supporting unit Turnaround (TA) activities, process engineering aspects in project work and plant troubleshooting. This position will closely work with process engineers, asset integrity inspectors, TA execution team, project study / execution team and operations.
Responsibilities:
Carrying out turnaround execution activities as part of process engineering team. The TA responsibilities include Equipment as found inspections, preparing corrective action recommendations and following up to complete them, closure inspections.
Catalyst loading monitoring and support in close coordination with catalyst loading contractor.
Participating /leading plant modifications’ check; MOC reviews & walkdowns; Updating operational and engineering documents as required for the refinery.
Plant shutdown, decon and startup support as needed.
Supporting / Preparing TA inspection plans and TA equipment inspection reports as documentation.
Support process study work, engineering evaluations and project execution work as needed.
Support plant operational troubleshooting, especially during shutdown, startup, test runs, and stabilization as needed.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
Understands, creates, and maintains a visible commitment to process and personal safety, as well as the safety of others.
Possess valid chemical Engineering Degree.
Must be able to work with operations, TA coordinators, maintenance, principal engineers, process study team and engineering teams in executing assigned process engineering activities.
Willing to continuously and proactively collaborate, share, and seek information and guidance; Should be a valuable team player. Good communication – verbal, written and presentation skills, timely communication to leaders.
Must be able to make decisions, in line with the refinery philosophy and execution plans. Must be willing to work in shifts and in weekends in assigned shifts.
Experience in Turnaround inspections in vessels and columns (includes moving & working in narrow spaces and working at heights).
Possess or Willing to obtain necessary competency verification needed for TA (including, but not limited to – confined space entry, use of fall protection, H2S alive, energy wheel etc.)
Able to carry equipment items needed for effective TA inspections (including while climbing vertical ladders); Able to safely perform quality inspections within given timely durations.
