The Senior Advisor, ATIP
What you need to succeed
To qualify for the position, you must have:
Graduation from a recognized college or university with a specialization in information access and protection of privacy, public administration, law, social sciences or another speciality relevant to the duties of the position.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the review and analysis of documents responsive to ATIP requests in an advisory role in the ATIP area within a Federal Government ATIP office.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience conducting in-depth legislative, regulatory or policy research and development.
Experience analyzing complex issues and proposing alternative solutions by synthesizing information into a concise and cohesive summary.
Experience providing strategic advice and preparing reports, plans, recommendations and briefing material for others, including senior managers.
In-depth working knowledge and experience applying the federal Access to Information Act and Privacy Act, related TBS regulations and government policies/directives.
Knowledge of ATIP jurisprudence, both current and key historical decisions.
Understanding of the mandates, roles and responsibilities of central agencies and other key departments related to the ATIP field.
Working experience in MS Office Suite, AccessPro Redaction and AccessPro Case.
Experience facilitating training sessions or promoting programs, policies or practices.

Specific work requirements
Ability to work overtime as required;
Ability to travel as required
Language Profile: BBBB;
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; and
Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
