Job Description

ONxpress Operations Inc. (OOI) is shaping the future of transit in the Greater Golden Horseshoe area. With a long-term partnership with Metrolinx, OOI will oversee the operations and maintenance of the GO Transit rail network and Union Pearson Express, as part of the groundbreaking GO Expansion program. Internship Description

During this 12-week summer internship program, we are excited to provide interns with an opportunity to work within our different areas of business while collaborating with industry experts and professionals who support the broad reach of ONxpress Operations Inc.

Responsibilities

Internship Areas

People Team

  • Provide end-to-end recruitment coordination support, ensuring seamless candidate experience.
  • Support ongoing development and optimization of HR systems while evaluating and recommending opportunities for automation & streamlining business processes.
  • Collaborate with Employee Relations team to implement employee engagement initiatives to facilitate the promotion of OOI’s values and culture. 

Finance Team

  • Assist in preparing and finalizing the budgeting process and financial reporting.
  • Compile financial data from systems on monthly financial figures and variance analysis.
  • Prepare presentations, data results reports and analyses.
  • Support payment applications and accounting processes.

Information Technology Team

  • Assist the Operations IT Systems team in documenting backlog items for future IVU phases, & processes & mapping exercises.
  • Collaborate with the Operational Readiness Team by assisting IT representatives on action items.
  • Contribute to KPI reporting by documenting and tracking the progress of test and use cases.
  • Maintain RAID Log.

Fixed Asset Maintenance Team 

  • Assist in the reviewing of scope requirements for existing legacy contracts with the Facilities Team. 
  • Assist in the drafting of scope requirements for net new contracts with the Facilities Team. 
  • Assist in the re-drafting of scope requirements for the net new consolidated contract vendor documents. 
  • Support the submission of all Fixed Asset Deliverables against Project Agreement Requirements with the Project Management Team. 
  • Support the OCS/TPS Team and the Signal/Communication team in drafting of initial scope documents for future scope. 
  • Review and consolidate all Comment Forms & Resolution Requirements with the Project Management Team. 
  • Assist the Technical Procurement Team with tender/vendor selection documents. 

Revenue Vehicle Maintenance Team

  • Assist in ensuring the optimal functioning and upkeep of vehicles that directly contribute to OOI’S revenue generation.
  • Support planning, coordinating, and executing maintenance and fleet management activities.
  • Assist the Fleet Delivery Team with daily operational tasks and project coordination.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables and follow up on action items.

Health, Safety and Security Team

  • Collaborate on planning and coordination of HSS department’s administrative activities while ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Assist in data management, collection & analysis of HSS performance data to facilitate strategic decision making by identifying trends, areas for improvement and successes. 
  • Support in managing departmental documentation, utilizing SharePoint and ACONEX, to ensure that all records are accurately maintained and easily accessible.
  • Provide user support to empower all employees to effectively utilize Symbio.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a 3rd or 4th year accredited post-secondary university or college program.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Passionate about working together as a team and a natural collaborator.
  • Open to sharing your thoughts and empower others around to do the same to create an inclusive working environment.

  • Work on exciting projects and join intern program initiatives, further develop your skillset, and learn more about how your team helps make the largest capital project to date happen in Canada.

This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days working in-office (130 Adelaide St. W, Toronto) to enable delivery and cultivate team building relationships.
