At the Department of Opportunities and Social Development (OSD), we are a large and diverse department providing a broad portfolio of programs and services including Child and Family Wellbeing (CFW), Employment Support Services (ESS), Income Assistance (IA), Homelessness and Supportive Housing, and Disability Support Program(DSP).
Through our services, we advocate and help vulnerable Nova Scotians be independent, self-reliant, and secure. We work collaboratively across the province with a strong dedicated network of supports and staff, to achieve desired and shared outcomes for all.
We’re hiring a Project Coordinator who will assist in coordinating and administering programs and project processes.
You will be involved in promoting and interpreting programs, assessing and monitoring project progress, and providing essential information related to project management.

This may be the right opportunity for you if you have a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field and at least one (1) year of related experience with program coordination and administration.
You are decisive, demonstrate well-developed analytical/ problem-solving skills, are detail-oriented, and are a collaborative team player. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a knack for partnering and developing relationships are essential to your success. You must always maintain confidentiality and a strong focus on client service. You can work effectively under pressure, with competing priorities, in this fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.

Your typical work week is 35 hours with 7-hour days. You will work in a comfortable office environment. There is a regular need to balance multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and produce accurate results. You will have daily contact with the public, various Government Departments as well as other community partners.
This is a 6-month temporary opportunity from the start date of the successful candidate. The appointment status (‘term’, ‘temporary’ or ‘casual’) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.
Pay Grade: PR 06 - PR 10
Salary Range: $1,924.95 - $2,760.42 Bi-Weekly
