Join our client’s public accounting & advisory firm as a Tax Manager! Use your expertise to guide clients through complex tax strategies while advancing your career in a collaborative setting. Agilus is recruiting for a Tax Manager in the public accounting sector in Chatham, Ontario. A day in the life: Lead and contribute to the growth of the tax practice. Drive business development and build relationships with both prospective and existing clients. Identify new tax planning opportunities and communicate these to clients. Manage and oversee tax planning engagements. Provide leadership and mentorship to staff members. Stay up-to-date with Canadian tax legislation. Develop and document internal processes to improve efficiency and manage risk. Provide ongoing technical support and conduct research as needed. Successful candidates will have: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field. CPA designation or equivalent is required; candidates in the final stages of obtaining their CPA designation will also be considered. Completion of the CPA In-Depth Course or master’s in taxation is required for this role Strong understanding of tax planning, tax compliance, and accounting principles. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on Canadian tax planning. Availability to work on occasional Saturdays, as needed, based on workload demands. Proficiency in CaseWare and TaxPrep is an asset. Experience with tax research tools such as AnswerConnect and TaxnetPro is highly preferred. Excellent communication skills, ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex tax concepts to clients, team members, and stakeholders, both in writing and verbally, ensuring understanding at all levels.
