Agilus is recruiting for a DevOps Engineer in the Financial Services in a hybrid work environment in Toronto, Ontario. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong problem-solving mindset to join our dynamic team. This is a hands-on, exploratory role where ambiguity is embraced and innovation is key. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, can work independently with minimal supervision, and is not afraid to ask questions and collaborate with various teams to deliver solutions. You will be expected to navigate through complex situations, solve problems on the fly, and take ownership of key DevOps initiatives. A typical day: Focus primarily on building GitHub Actions pipelines and ensuring smooth CI/CD workflows. Contribute to Terraform-based infrastructure provisioning. Collaborate with the DevOps team (currently 1.5 people) and support the needs of 8 people in the development team, including front-end and full-stack engineers. Manage tasks from the sprint backlog, taking ownership and delivering them with minimal guidance. Engage with multiple internal teams and stakeholders, helping to shape solutions and facilitating project progress in a highly complex environment. You are: This contract role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating solutions from the ground up, particularly in areas like CI/CD pipeline development and infrastructure automation. A strong background in Terraform, GitHub Actions, and AWS technologies is essential. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to streamline development workflows and automate deployments. Provision infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring smooth scalability and reliability. Work with Docker containers to create, deploy, and manage environments across the development lifecycle. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end and full-stack developers, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software products. Debug and troubleshoot issues using TypeScript, leveraging your full-stack development experience. Understand and work with AWS services (e.g., RDS, S3, SQS, EKS) to support application deployment and infrastructure. Soft skills: Quick learner with a desire to embrace challenges and grow in a complex environment. Someone who is comfortable figuring things out and is not afraid to ask questions when facing ambiguity. Ability to work under minimal supervision and take ownership of projects.
